The Rodney Weir Marching Band Scholarship is given to a Berrien County high school graduate that will join a college marching band.
History
Rodney started the scholarship in 2017, given though the Berrien Community Foundation. Rodney uses his own journey from Coloma to leading the Michigan Marching Band to highlight the benefits of marching band participation.
Rodney currently runs the Pasadena Half Marathon in January of every year, ending on the field of the Rose Bowl. Coloma was announced at the Rose Bowl in 1992 as Rodney led the Michigan Marching Band at one of the premier sporting and cultural events in the world.
